Kinoteka 2026 unveils programme with Wajda centenary, Jan Komasa’s The Good Boy and Agnieszka Holland’s Franz

Returning from 4^th February to 29^th March 2026, the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival will bring a wide-ranging selection of screenings and events to London and select UK cities, showcasing the strength and variety of Polish cinema past and present.

Organised by the Polish Cultural Institute in London, this year’s edition marks the 100^th anniversary of legendary director Andrzej Wajda with a major retrospective titled Portraits of History and Humanity. Held across BFI Southbank, ICA and Ciné Lumière, the programme will span six decades of Wajda’s politically charged work, with screenings of Ashes and Diamonds, Man of Marble, Katyn and more. Complementing this, a touring selection of Wajda films will also travel to cities such as Edinburgh, Oxford and Newcastle.

New Polish cinema is strongly represented, including two titles from Oscar-nominated director Jan Komasa. His English-language debut The Good Boy, starring Anson Boon, Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough, is joined by Anniversary, a dystopian thriller headlined by Diane Lane and Kyle Chandler. Other highlights include Agnieszka Holland’s Franz – Poland’s official Oscar submission – Wojciech Smarzowski’s Home Sweet Home, and the latest instalment of the hit comedy In Laws 3.

The festival also features a dedicated documentary strand, including Letters from Wolf Street and Trains, as well as a tribute to the late Marcel Łoziński. A parallel programme commemorates 30 years since the death of Krzysztof Kieślowski, with screenings and an interactive AI project, Call Kieślowski.

Other events include a full-day conference on AI in filmmaking, a family screening of The Dog Who Travelled by Train 2, and Blokowisko, a multimedia performance inspired by one of Wajda’s unfilmed stories, taking place at Southbank Centre.
