MGM+ dives into a chilling chapter of LA’s history with The Hillside Strangler

MGM+ has released the official trailer for The Hillside Strangler, a gripping four-part docuseries revisiting one of America’s most terrifying serial murder cases – and the longest criminal trial in US history.
Set in late-1970s Los Angeles, when the city was plagued by a string of brutal killings, The Hillside Strangler uncovers the story of Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono, cousins whose string of abductions and murders left the city reeling. With their victims’ bodies dumped on hillsides like grotesque calling cards, the case sparked the largest manhunt in Los Angeles history and ultimately defined the career of legendary homicide detective Frank Salerno.
The series features exclusive access to Salerno, who reflects on the case for the first time in over 40 years, as well as unprecedented on-camera interviews with Kenneth Bianchi himself – who, until now, has never spoken publicly. Directed by Peter LoGreco (Welcome to Plathville), The Hillside Strangler combines archive footage, dramatisations and expert testimony to deliver a haunting, firsthand account of a case that continues to cast a long shadow over the city.
