Riz Ahmed leads new Prime Video comedy Bait as trailer lands ahead of March launch
Prime Video has released a trailer for Bait, a new comedy series created by and starring Riz Ahmed, which premieres on the platform on 25ᵗʰ March 2026.
Ahmed plays Shah Latif, a struggling actor whose big break appears to come in the form of a once-in-a-lifetime audition. The six-part series follows him over four chaotic days as his life begins to unravel, with family members, an ex-partner and the wider public all weighing in on whether he’s really the right person for the job.
The show also stars Guz Khan as Shah’s friend Zulfi, alongside Sheeba Chaddha, Sajid Hasan, Aasiya Shah, Weruche Opia and Ritu Arya. Together they form the circle of people who complicate Shah’s already fraught attempt to secure the role that could change his career.
Ahmed co-created the series and serves as an executive producer with Allie Moore for Left Handed, while Ben Karlin acts as showrunner and executive producer. The series is produced by Jax Media and Amazon MGM Studios.
The newly released trailer hints at a mix of awkward industry satire and character-driven comedy, as Shah’s audition process becomes tangled with the pressures of family expectations, public scrutiny and his own doubts.
