Disney+ has revealed a first look at upcoming comedy-drama Alice and Steve, a sharp and chaotic “wrong-com” set to arrive on the platform this summer.

Starring Nicola Walker (The Split, Unforgotten) and Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows), the six-part series centres on a friendship that implodes in spectacular fashion when Steve starts dating Alice’s 26-year-old daughter.

What follows is less a love story and more an all-out war. As Alice tries to sabotage the relationship, Steve proves more than ready to fight back, turning a once-close bond into a bitter and increasingly absurd feud. The series promises a mix of biting humour and emotional fallout, exploring just how far people will go when love, loyalty and revenge collide.

Yali Topol Margalith plays Alice’s daughter Izzy, caught in the middle of the chaos, with Joel Fry also starring. The show is set against a London backdrop and leans into messy relationships and uncomfortable truths, positioning itself as an anti-romantic comedy rather than a traditional love story.

The series is created by Sophie Goodhart, known for her work on Sex Education, and directed by Stath Lets Flats’ Tom Kingsley. It also comes from Clerkenwell Films, the production company behind Baby Reindeer and The End of the F**ing World*, suggesting a similarly bold and offbeat tone.

Ahead of its release, Alice and Steve will premiere in competition at Canneseries 2026.
