The Strokes announce new album Reality Awaits and global tour

The Strokes are heading back on the road, announcing a major global tour alongside their upcoming album Reality Awaits.

The tour will span North America, the UK, Europe and Japan, kicking off in June and running through to the autumn. UK dates include a stop at London’s The O2, followed by shows in Manchester and Dublin later in October.

The run also features high-profile venues and festivals across the globe, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Paris’ Accor Arena and Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, with support from artists including Thundercat, Cage the Elephant, Fat White Family and Alex Cameron on select dates.

Alongside the tour news, the band confirmed their seventh studio album Reality Awaits will be released on 26th June. The record follows 2020’s The New Abnormal and was recorded in Costa Rica with producer Rick Rubin, before being completed across multiple locations.

The first single, Going Shopping, was released last week, offering an initial glimpse at the new material.

Fresh from a headline appearance at Coachella and with major festival slots lined up, the band’s return marks their first new era in several years – pairing new music with an extensive run of live shows.
