Robert De Niro leads Netflix thriller The Whisper Man as first look and release date are revealed

Netflix has unveiled a first look at The Whisper Man, a new psychological thriller starring Robert De Niro, set to launch globally on 28th August 2026.

Based on Alex North’s bestselling novel, the film follows a widowed crime writer whose life is shattered when his young son is abducted. Desperate for answers, he turns to his estranged father – a retired detective – only to uncover chilling links to a decades-old case involving a convicted serial killer known as “The Whisper Man”.

Directed by James Ashcroft and written by Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer, the adaptation leans into the eerie overlap between past and present, as buried secrets begin to resurface.

The film features a strong ensemble cast alongside De Niro, including Michelle Monaghan, Adam Scott, Hamish Linklater and Owen Teague.

Produced by Anthony and Joe Russo, The Whisper Man brings a dark, character-driven mystery to the screen, blending family drama with unsettling psychological tension.
