Canary Wharf Sri Lankan restaurant Isso Prawn Crazy launches colossal prawn curry sharing dish for National Curry Week

Isso Prawn Crazy, the Sri Lankan seafood restaurant that recently opened in Canary Wharf, will be serving a super-sized version of its Colossal Freshwater Prawn Kiri Hothi as a sharing dish for up to four people during National Curry Week, from 5th to 11th October. The dish is built around a large, head-on freshwater prawn sourced from the waters off Jaffna and Mannar in northern Sri Lanka, and is served in a coconut milk gravy flavoured with turmeric, fenugreek and lime.

For National Curry Week, the curry will come with a choice of ghee rice or pol roti, a coconut flatbread. It will also be served with papadam and three sambals (chilli-based sauces): pol sambol, made with fresh coconut, seeni sambol, which the kitchen describes as sweet and spicy, and lunu miris, a hot chilli relish. The dish is priced according to the number of diners, costing £45 for one person, £80 for two, £115 for three and £145 for four.

For the week, the venue is also introducing two cocktails made with curry ingredients to reflect the flavours of the food menu. The Curry Leaf & Passionfruit Ceylon Spritz combines passionfruit, curry leaf, lemongrass and lime, and the Spiced Cardamom & Coconut Milk Punch is made with coconut milk, cardamom, vanilla and rum.

Isso Prawn Crazy is the London site of Isso, the prawn-centric restaurant brand founded in Colombo in 2016 that now runs several restaurants in Sri Lanka. The Canary Wharf site opens daily from 11am and closes at 10pm from Monday to Friday and at 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
