Nina Naustdal S/S 2013 collection

Nina Naustdal S/S 2013 collection

Saturday morning at the Nina Naustdal boutique in South Kensington became a showcase of the new ready to wear Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The boutique – opened by the Norwegian designer in May – dazzled in the autumn sunlight revealing a beautiful line of new season designs.

Bold and bright colours dominated the new line of stunning outfits with shades of turquoise and magenta appearing on delicate satins. Maxi dresses were prevailing throughout, with peplum lowered hems completing the bottom of hems for elegant detail. Nina’s new work also featured stand out shades of orange and purple for an interesting palette of colour.

In a more daring approach to the collection there was a significant use of leather, but it was done in complete style. Shirt cuffs and maxi trouser suits with upper body panelling contributed to a newer side to Nina’s work, the S/S collection seemed to demonstrate a new side to her previous designs. However, we weren’t short of Nina’s signature of diamonds either. Glamorous cocktail dresses and evening gowns were neatly decorated with matching coloured crystals for the ultimate dressed up look.

Our favourite piece had to be the chiffon shirt with leather cuffs, coloured in a mysterious shade of lilac. The £540 shirt is also available in different colours, along with other pieces in the collection. All that’s left to say is that Nina Naustdal’s work is perfect for a chic summer.
