This is the perfect time for us to introduce Shape Shifter Designs by Monika Reimann, whose background in art, jewellery and fashion design has led us to her label. Monika uses glass creatively to design beautiful jewellery, and her inspiration comes from travelling the world and experiencing different cultures, as well as the philosophies behind the cultures. All the jewellery is handcrafted, which adds a special touch to each piece. Monika creates all sorts of jewellery including bracelets, earrings, pendants, rings and jewellery for men. 

One piece that stands out is the Collier with cabuchons. This is a large necklace that has been embedded with gemstones, and has been thoroughly polished and shaped. This creates a gemstone that is curved at the top and flat at the bottom. To create the necklace, it goes through a process where the dichroic glass is fused at 800 celsius.  Diamond saw-cutting is used to create the unique shapes, and then polished by hand. The beauty of this jewellery piece is its dichroic glass that has the ability to transmit colours, whilst reflecting other colours. The necklace is then set in sterling silver for a beautiful finish. 

The Colliers with cabuchons is a beautiful piece of jewellery that can be appreciated. You can tell that the artist has created these pieces with passion and love, as each piece is different and unique. Each gemstone is full of rays of colour from the same colour palette, therefore giving depth to each gem. Each gem has a swirling effect which makes the stone look luminous and beautiful, and many of these jewellery pieces have been featured in the press for the technology that is being used. 

This could be a great Christmas present for someone who appreciates fine colliers with cabuchons.  The combination is great, as you have individually crafted gems created into unique shaped necklaces. The most stunning element is the beautiful, rich colours of the gems, in deep blues, deep oranges with burnt amber and light crystal blues.
