Choose something subtle and sweet for Valentine’s with Hillary Bird illustrations

Here at The Upcoming, we love it when we discover a unique talent. Illustrator and designer Hillary Bird is exactly that. Originally from Virginia, USA, Hillary graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, clutching with her a degree in Textiles. Using her newfound skills in crafting, she took the decision to start illustrating and in 2008 graced us with her very own Etsy shop full of her fascinating designs.

Now based in San Francisco, Hillary’s online store is full of quirky and adorable prints perfect for an added touch to any home. Taking inspirations from vintage fabrics and wallpaper, animals, knitting and natural wonders, her drawings take on a more individual yet addictive pattern that we want to put everywhere we possibly can. Whether it is her cute floral printed cards or her bold, story-telling prints with a young girl and a bear, Hillary’s drawings are charming, pretty and perfect to tell someone exactly how you are feeling.

With cupid drawing closer each day, Hillary’s Etsy store is the one-stop shop for the ultimate Valentine’s statement. With cards priced at £2.59 and larger prints at £9.70, you will find yourself a delicate yet adorable illustration for the lover in your life. Our favourite picks are the Completely card (£2.59), the Heart Party poster (£9.70) and the Freshly Picked print (£16.20). Hillary’s work is subtle yet completely sweet, making it a perfect addition to a special 14th February.
