Ever been to Wondaland?

Ever been to Wondaland?

Alice Rugge-Prince is the name behind Wondaland, a vintage inspired brand that reinvents classic and tailored vintage pieces, giving them an up to date twist. Focusing on innovative fabrics, high quality finishes and bespoke prints; there is definitely something here for everybody.

Wondaland is a diffusion of Prince’s experiences with the fashion industry, taking inspiration from her jobs all across the globe, from London, Paris and even the Orient, with designs taking inspiration from all three.

Having gained a degree in Fashion Design at Central St Martins, Prince was headhunted to design womenswear at Evisu Jeans, and has even worked at Pop magazine, assisting fashion features editor Vanessa Reid. Over this time she was made a member of the elite Atelier-Mayer team, acting as a vintage buyer for their website, before moving to Hong Kong to pursue Wondaland.

At the heart of China’s economic boom, Prince is able to work closely with the manufacturers and control the whole production from design to sales; she is more than well equipped to assemble beautiful collection after collection. Creating just the right mix of nostalgia and contemporary, the focus is aimed towards beautiful event and special occasion dresses, with the strap line “Only the most flattering fits that suit proper women and not just size 8 models!”

Spring/Summer 2012 sees Wondaland doing what it does best: cute, contemporary, vintage inspired pieces. With a subtle colour palette of cream and black, the occasional pastel blue or tomato red hue, the interest is in the details; from quirky kitsch prints to delicate beading, this collection is immaculately put together. Wondaland is a brand which is certainly living up to its name.
