Bronzed and fabulous: Chanel’s collection for summer 2012

As summer slowly but surely approaches, it’s getting nearer to bronzer time! The right bronzer can do wonders for even the dullest complexion and Chanel’s collection for summer 2012 is definitely going for the gold!

The French fashion house’s eagerly anticipated summer collection launches in May. Inspired by sun, spice and sand, each product is beautifully summery, with plenty of corals, bronzes and golds to suit every skin tone. The emphasis is on neutral, played-down eyes and subtle peachy colours that enhance tanned skin.

Consisting of lipsticks, lip glosses, nail polish, eyeshadow and liner and the all-important bronzing shimmer bricks, the collection gives you everything you need to recreate the Californian sun-kissed look of the season.

The Luminous Bronzing Powder comes in two shades – the peachy-toned Sable Beige for a natural sun-kissed look for warmer skin tones, or the pink-based Sable Rose for a healthy flush for fair skin. With seven textured shades in each palette, you can pick selected colours for definition or or swirl the lot together for a radiant effect.

Completing the collection is four transparent but tinted lip glosses and two additions to the Rouge Coco Shine lipstick line – a soft beige and a warm pink coral. These lipsticks are the perfect tool to give natural sheer colour and hydrate your lips in one.

With every new Chanel collection, fans of the brand eagerly await the new Le Vernis shades for the season; the summer’s shades will no doubt become instantly classic colours and please the masses. The three new Le Vernis shades for this season are: a nude, sand-inspired Island, a bronze Delight and a fiery tangerine named Holiday. Complete your holiday look with any one of these trend-setting colours or hop onto the nail art bandwagon and mix and match this summer.

Chanel’s summer collection hits stores in May. For more information, click here.
