Let your accessories show your fun side with Luna on the Moon
Luna on the Moon isn’t your average accessory label. Set up and created by Kirsty Pate, the label is possibly the most distinctive I’ve ever come across. Alongside her boyfriend and her rabbit Luna, Kirsty has created a kooky and playful world of accessories that are totally unique and fabulous.
The name, Luna on the Moon, came from the pair imagining what Luna the rabbit would do whilst the duo were at work, and going to the moon was what they came up with. Taking this totally random approach, the label started in October 2011 and has become a fun brand full of eye-catching headbands and fascinators.
By combining her own personal obsession with accessories and her love for glitter, Kirsty’s approach to her creations are a way of making life more exciting. With inspiration coming from the likes of Salvador Dali, Edward Scissorhands and Dame Edna Everage, this label is far from the norm and that is what makes it so special. With a whole host of shapes, symbols and animals making an appearance on a range of different head attire, it is clear Luna on the Moon has taken a completely different step with accessories, and it is a step that we absolutely love.
With all of the pieces being handmade in Kirsty’s flat in London, each headpiece is one of a kind and exclusive. From the peace headband, the black-ants head strap, the glittery Eiffel-tower headpiece to the koala face fascinator, you know you won’t find any of Kirsty’s fascinators anywhere else. The majority of her work is custom made and therefore, if there is something in particular you wanted to wear on your head, Luna on the Moon is the place for you to find it.
When we asked Kirsty what the future had in store for Luna and the Moon, she replied: “There are plans for world domination but we’re happy to start with London first!” We don’t think there could be any better answer.
