What will you find in Gabrielle Ginns’ Little Black Box?

What will you find in Gabrielle Ginns’ Little Black Box?

When I stumbled across Little Black Box, it was love at first sight and when we contacted the designer – her response only left us beyond amazed.

Gabrielle Ginns in the founder of this online delight and being only 17 years old; she has simply taken our breath away. Currently studying for her A Levels as well as preparing for university and working a part time retail job, Gabrielle somehow manages to also run LBB all on her own and is simply an inspiration to us all.

She started LBB as a way of putting her love of passion to some use. Imagining what it would be like to be a fashion buyer or to own her own boutique, Gabrielle decided to start her own online store in the summer of 2011. By posting the link to her site on social networking pages and using simple pictures taken in her bedroom, Gabrielle began her dreams of becoming a fashion sensation.

Inspiration for her website comes from so many different aspects of life. Thailand is one major part in her ideas, as she has the opportunity to visit her dad there, every summer. Coming from a tiny town in Northamptonshire and having the opportunity to be surrounded by the buzz of the city in Bangkok gives her the main source of inspiration. She also uses blogs such as Nasty Gal and Runwaydreamz to keep herself up to date with the latest trends and styles, as well as taking inspiration from style icons Rihanna, Gillian Zinser and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. She also has an endless list of designers who she admires with Vivienne Westwood and Alexander Wang making her favourites list.

It is so hard to not fill your online shopping cart when browsing the products Gabrielle has to offer. The style picks that the store currently has to offer have a particular edge to them. Even though it is all on trend and current, the feel of each item is unique and one of a kind. You know if you buy from LBB, it is going to be a truly exceptional investment. Our special picks is the black and white stripe shirt with the leather collar and cuffs (£30), the multi-coloured Aztec print cardigan (£25), the black wedge heels on sale at £18 and the vintage dip dyed Levi shorts (£40).

The future of Little Black Box is one that is clearly going to continue blossoming, soon we hope to see re-worked vintage pieces such as handmade tie-dyes tees and studded vintage shorts in the next collection. This will be focusing on a more personal reflection of Gabrielle, each step is a learning curve and with so much ahead of Gabrielle already, we can only expect huge things.
