Does Jewel in a Box tick your box?

Does Jewel in a Box tick your box?

We always seem to want more, or something new. Purchasing something new makes you smile and want to do your happy dance. Some bling tends to make us even happier. A Tiffany, Boucheron or Van Cleef & Arpels original sounds fantastic. But you could never afford it at those prices. Or could you…?

Jewel in a Box offers you more than just jewellery. It offers you service. It is not your average store or online boutique. The concept is very distinctive. With this Belgian-born company, you have the option of selling your jewel or watch, as well as buying one.

Emmanuel Katz – the brains behind the whole operation – comes from the Katz family, which has at least 40 years of experience in the jewellery trade in the heart of the diamond capital, Antwerp. After returning from years of work experience in an Italian workshop, Emmanuel realised not much existed in terms of “estate” jewellery. With the guidance of his father, Joseph Katz, Jewel in a Box was born.

The concept is relatively simple. Jewel in a Box acts as the broker trading between you, the buyer, and another private customer, the seller. They differentiate themselves from other second-hand jewellers by issuing a certificate for all your purchases. This certificate warranties the authenticity and origin of the item, as well as the price.

If you are interested, all you have to do is rent a box in the window for a minimum of two months. This is the perfect solution for people looking to exchange their old jewels for new ones at half the price of a normal store.

Take for example this 18kt gold Piaget watch set with diamonds. The estimated retail price is €13,060 while the price at Jewel in a Box is €6,500. Tempted? There’s more. This vintage gold ring from the 1960s set with cabochon malachite. Estimated retails value of €1,100 is now €580.

What about these charming little flower-shaped sapphire-coloured earrings? Or this antique brooch from 1890, which is set with diamonds and pearls? Maybe you are in the mood for something more modern. Try this handmade gold ring mounted with sapphires, tourmaline, opal and diamonds.

With Jewel in a Box, you are presented with the option of buying or selling with a certificate to guarantee the quality and price, as well as the authenticity for top brands. Everything is tested and verified before it is sold.

Try it for yourself by clicking here. Emmanuel and his assistant Roberta will welcome you warmly and patiently explain the store concept to you.

Doesn’t a new Chopard ring on your finger sound nice? No one need know the price, except you.
