The Upcoming was invited to the launch of a brand new online fashion boutique MKD Rocks.  The night was held at the Frontline Club in West London where we received an extremely warm welcome from the creative directors Kelly and Michelle. It a was really fresh and cool evening; there were MKD Rocks inspired cocktails at the bar and guests were treated to a catwalk, showcasing all the designers.

The creative directors Kelly, Michelle and Dannike started developing their website concept back in January of this year. After realising the high-street shops were more or less selling the same style of clothes, they decided to create this website to give establishing designers a platform. After toying with several ideas, they chose an online boutique to satisfy their creative needs and in the words of Kelly, they thought “Bam, let’s do it!”

The website features womens- and menswear, as well as a selection of accessories. Each of the seven designers has been specifically chosen as they are just emerging, and instead of immediately working for fashion houses MDK Rocks wanted to give them a platform to sell their own designs. The designs are very contemporary, stylish and are really reflective of the fresh, unique feel MKD Rocks is going for.

For women, there is a variety of designers, from Isabel Wong who creates high end, luxury pieces to L’s who loves to accentuate the female figure and is inspired by her culture and the latest trends. For men, there is the Dirty Fresh Laundry T-shirt collection, which is inspired by the iconic wash labels found as well as music and the party scene.

Prices are affordable and some of the designs, such as Paris G, are all one off exclusive pieces. The website officially launches next Saturday but until then you can follow them on Twitter @MKDRocks.
