MFW – Roberto Musso S/S 2013 collection
The Roberto Musso SS13 collection makes women want to become poetic travellers overnight; finally a romantic, cosmopolitan collection that oozes in confidence with the whole art and is ready to play with. In that universe, where the opposites attract, the buzzword is contamination.
In fashion, there are powerful contrasts that scream out at us, and there are others soft and suggestive, but no less effective in surprising us: this second is what we see in Roberto Musso’s SS13 collection.
Austere uniforms coexist with plated cocktail dresses and bell-shaped skirts. Ultra feminine round-neck short jackets alternate with waist-screwed kimono jackets. Ultra romantic pleated blouses are combined with extra short legs and silver or bicolour flat, pointy shoes.
Absolutely adorable is the moss green military style jacket with raised pockets and a red belt in double cotton and linen. It is worn with a hand-painted sculptured skirt that gives the sensation of wearing a masterpiece.
A new architecture in each pair of trousers gives the stride a ceremonial look, recalling the formal inspirational rigour.
As the show closed, we saw short draped robes for metropolitan goddesses in shimmering pastel shades – butter, lilac, pink, lavender – made with inlaid fabric: ramie voile mixed with light cotton, linen and silk.
A collection with a timeless elegance and an allure that seems a little bit naive, but is now a trademark of the brand.
