Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth in new Hollywood crime thriller from David Fincher and Quentin Tarantino

"A man with a mustache sits at a desk in a warmly lit office, holding a green bottle. The room has a lamp, filing boxes, and papers, with a painting and organized supplies in the background."

Brad Pitt is returning to one of his most memorable roles this November, stepping back into the shoes of laid-back stuntman Cliff Booth for a new adventure through the darker side of 1970s Hollywood. Directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth picks up eight years after Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, with murder, blackmail and dangerous encounters replacing the original film’s Hollywood fairytale.

It’s 1977, and Cliff is no longer spending his days working alongside Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton. Instead, he’s making ends meet as a bartender, projectionist and occasional fixer, using his particular talents to solve problems for the rich and famous, often by methods that don’t quite follow the law.

His latest assignment begins when talent agent Karen Crosby (Elizabeth Debicki) contacts him on behalf of television star Charlie Peters (Scott Caan), an actor who prides himself on performing his own stunts. Before long, Cliff finds himself navigating a complicated network of Hollywood personalities and criminals, including Charlie’s wife Toni (Carla Gugino), former football star turned actor Roderick Harrison (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and the mysterious Verdusco brothers, whose activities are causing trouble across Los Angeles.

Pitt won an Academy Award for his performance as Cliff in Tarantino’s 2019 film, which imagined an alternative version of Hollywood history surrounding the Manson murders. The sequel moves into a different era, trading the fading glamour of the late 1960s for a crime-ridden Los Angeles where Cliff’s unusual skills are still very much in demand.

The film also reunites Pitt with Fincher, who previously directed him in Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. With Tarantino providing the screenplay and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross composing the music, the project brings together several familiar creative collaborators for a new chapter in Cliff Booth’s story.
