This week we spoke to Sladja and Zvezda, the girls behind the Sparkle Fashion Blog, to find out more about their life, their blog and their wardrobes! The Serbian sisters started their blog earlier this year just because they were “bored”. The girls 25 and 27 have no fashion background, and they say they are just “normal girls who love fashion”. Their blog features heavily on photography which makes it stand out from other blogs. We learnt more about the girls…

Explain a little about yourself and a few words to sum you up individually.

Zvezda: I’m a girl in front of the camera…

Sladja: I’m a girl behind the camera at Sparkle Fashion Blog. I am a candy lover and shoe addict. I will most likely spend all my money on clothes. I can watch TV more than normal people. I adore animals and would like to live close to the sea one day… And these days I dream about working in PR.

What’s your day-time job?

Z: I studied faculty of law and now I work in court.

S: Biochemist. Creative worm who writes a little bit, takes photos a little bit!

Why did you start your blog?

Z: This winter I was really bored, and I suggested to my sister that we take some pictures of our outfits. She was already involved in blogging and so it began. I never dreamt it would become this serious.

For people that haven’t come across your blog, can you give them a brief summary of what your blog is about?

Well, our blog is about some ordinary girls who just love fashion. It started in February this year. We try to blog every other day, but sometimes it’s hard to keep up with everything.

There are always lots of photographs on your blog, which we love! Who takes the photos and what camera do you use?

S: That will be me! And thank you so much on the “love” part. It really means a lot. At the moment I use NIKON CoolPix L10. We don’t use Photoshop; sometimes we use filters just to get different looks out of our photos. Of course, I would love to use a camera that is more professional in the future, but for now it’s ok.

What other blogs do you read?

Kendi Everyday, Rockstar Diaries, Angelica, The Londoner, Lovely Pepa, Sincerely Jules…etc. It changes from time to time.

Ok, here are some fashion questions…

Style icon?

Z: For me it was my sister. She taught me almost everything and pushed me into the fashion world!

S: Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn; always and forever.

Most expensive piece of clothing in your closet?

Z: Boots that were very expensive and very bad quality. I’ve only worn them a couple of times!

S: I really don’t know, but for the record I admit I am the one who buys more expensive clothes.

Most worn piece of clothing?

Z: My black pants from Zara. If I can, I wear them every day; they make my legs look very sexy!

S: That will be denim shorts. This summer I wore them…let’s just say very, very often!

Favourite trend coming through for AW12?

Z: Something comfortable and warm: oversized sweaters with tight pants.

S: Denim shirts and printed pants.

Favourite designer?

Z: Christian Louboutin or Prada.

S: Right now, Oscar de la Renta. I’m in love with the spring collection.

Favourite high street shop?

Z: Zara.

S: Zara, Stradivarius, Primark, H&M…

Thank you girls! To learn more about the girls visit their blog here.
