Bund Lounge rooftop bar brings art deco flair and Shanghai-inspired cocktails to Mayfair

Glamorous new cocktail bar Bund Lounge opens this month on the rooftop of the London Hilton on Park Lane. Located in Mayfair, the lounge aims to provide a high-rise nightlife experience featuring themed drinks and a rotating line-up of DJs (expected to be announced in the coming weeks).

The venue is inspired by 1930s Shanghai and will offer panoramic views across the capital alongside a menu of cocktails and small plates influenced by East Asian flavours. With seating for 58 guests indoors and an additional 30 on the terrace, Bund Lounge draws on the aesthetics of the art deco era and the romance of vintage railway journeys. The interior has been designed by First Within, a London-based design studio known for its work in restaurants and nightlife venues. The décor incorporates geometric motifs, plush materials and ambient lighting intended to evoke the glamour of the golden age of travel.

The drinks menu is titled Lunar Antipodes and is based on the dualities of the Chinese zodiac. Each of the 12 signature cocktails is named after a zodiac sign and is said to reflect contrasting traits – such as boldness and subtlety or instinct and strategy – through ingredients and presentation. For example, the Monkey cocktail combines vachaça, banana, cacao, coconut and blue foam, while the Goat features Japanese gin, sparkling wine and pandan and cacao white liqueur. Non-alcoholic versions of each drink are also available.

The kitchen at Bund Lounge will serve a selection of small plates, including dishes from the menu of Shanghai Me, another of Fundamental Hospitality’s concepts just next door in the Hilton. Options include Roast Duck with Foie Gras and Caviar, Yellowtail Carpaccio with Black Truffle and various types of sushi and dim sum.

Evgeny Kuzin, chairman and founder of Fundamental Hospitality, said: “Bund Lounge will be an indulgent escape, hidden in London offering a unique take on Southeast Asian cocktails. We are proud of the menu we have created and are honoured to be able to bring this to the city within London Hilton on Park Lane. We hope our guests will feel like they have been transported to a rich era gone by as the music carries them into the night.”
