Named after the goddess of the night, NYX is sold in no less than 43 countries and has found its place in the crowded beauty market offering a wide array of colourful make-up at affordable prices.

Building on their popularity, NYX have developed and released a series of eye, lip and cheek palettes that range from daytime nudes to glitter and fashion shades. A very good choice for anyone unsure which colours suit them, the palettes allow you to play and see what is flattering, but also fun. Some of the more celebrated palettes include the Be Free, Be Fierce, Nude on Nude and the Glitter Cream Pallet.

The Be Free and Be Fierce palettes both have 25 different eye shades, three blushes and seven lip glosses each to choose from; the only variant being that Be Fierce has some darker tones to it, including a deep navy and black for the eyes, and purple tones for lip colours. The Nude on Nude palette is perfect for those not willing to take the plunge with brighter shadows, but want to move on from one or two colour choices. It also has ten lip shades which run from neutral to bright red. If safe is not your thing, then the Glitter Cream Pallet will add a pop of pizzazz to your look with 21 sparkling choices to enjoy, from white to yellow, copper to gray.

Comparable with the more high-end make-up brands, you may not always get the same intensity of colour, but NYX come very close to matching other brands with heftier price tags. Perfect as a gift, or for anyone wanting to become a goddess for the night.

Nude on Nude Palette £25.00, Glitter Cream Palette £14.00, Be Fierce palette and Be Free Palette £20.00.

Available at House of Fraser, Debenhams and here.
