Marilyn Monroe once claimed: “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” Nowadays, diamonds are not only worn, but also used in beauty regimes. There are numerous facial creams and other items that possess this precious ingredient, and these items all come with a luxurious price tag.

The St. Tropez Diamond Tan uses real diamonds in a spray formula that covers the body in a delicate mist of diamond dust, leaving skin dazzling and luminous. This limited edition Diamond Tan is available exclusively at Selfridges, London throughout December at St. Tropez’s flagship Skin Finishing Studio.

The Refining Facial by Crème De La Mer features pure diamond powder and polished sea quartz that exfoliate, gently bidding farewell to dry surface cells. Available at John Lewis for £58.50, massage your face once a week for smooth, bright skin.

For the ultra-luxe nail polish, try this Black Diamond Nail Polish created by specialist jewellery maker Azature. Containing 267 carats of black diamonds and holding the title of the most expensive nail varnish ever, it is priced at a whopping £160,000. A more affordable and similar glittery version is available for £17. However, it contains just one diamond!

The Truffle Shampoo by Dutch beauty brand Fuente took four years to develop. This lavish shampoo improves the quality of your hair by using the skin of white truffle, meteorite dust from space and pure diamond dust. Your hair is more edible than you thought!

The Harley Street Skin Clinic produced this facial scrub to clear your skin and strip away dead cells. The tub is packed with finely ground diamonds, pearl extract and hydrolysed silk ingredients. Available at £25.50, it claims to improve the appearance of acne and other skin conditions. Antioxidants such as papaya extract give that ultimate revived and healthy skin look.

For £11 at Marks & Spencer, you could indulge yourself in this Leighton Denny Diamond Sole Mate Foot Scrub. The hardness of a diamond mixed with sea salt together uncovers soft and smooth skin. Say goodbye to cracked heels!

Tired of chipped and broken nails? Invest in Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength Nail Hardener. The titanium and real micro-diamond formula bonds fragile nail layers and builds a protective shield. You can purchase it at Boots for £8.99.

These diamond and gold false eyelashes by Kre are ultimately for fashionistas who want to enhance their sultry eyes. They are only available by special request at Barneys, New York for £845.

Guerlain’s Kiss Kiss Gold and Diamonds is a limited edition sparkling case, interchangeable with a selection of 15 lipstick colours. Originally created in 2005, Olivier Echaudemaison and Guerlain’s cosmetic designer Herve Van Der Straeten handcrafted this lipstick case encrusted with gold and diamonds.

La Prairie’s Softening & Balancing Lotion combines refined natural diamonds, fresh water pearls and crystal quartz. This treatment is notorious for diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and restoring a youthful glow. Pamper yourself at John Lewis for £93.60.

For pure indulgence and a wad of cash, sparkle your way into 2013!
