Another celebrity turns designer: Kate Hudson to design capsule collection for Ann Taylor
As the daughter of Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson was born to be a star. She has style, she has grace. Did Tom Jones imagine her when he sang his song She’s a Lady?
The 33-year-old actress, who is primarily known for her role in How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, has been the face of Ann Taylor for the past three seasons. With a new career move in mind, Kate Hudson – as many other celebrities like Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, Katie Holmes, Kayne West and Justin Timberlake – is about to debut her fashion line in collaboration with the US label.
“Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience and there is a really wonderful connection,” said Kate. “Putting these outfits together has been incredibly fun – they have such youthful energy and flair.” She adds, “Ann Taylor is great at creating iconic wardrobe staples and updating them season after season … I love that Lisa Axelson is designing clothes for real women.”
Kate worked directly with creative director Lisa Axelson on the range, reinterpreting her own red carpet style – but with a wearable, everyday twist. The first pieces will be available in Ann Taylor stores as of May.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Kate Hudson,” said Lisa. “Her confident spirit inspires us. She lives the many roles in her life with such chic, effortless style.”
Kate will also be the charitable ambassador for the brand, joining Ann Inc.’s ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative. This partnership between the parent company of Ann Taylor and the program is focusing on young girls worldwide to unleash their inner leadership potential. What better a role model than Kate Hudson herself?
Whoever thought beauty, brains and balls could not all be put together in one person did not know of Kate Hudson.
