There’s always something special about the bands formed by siblings – an unbreakable connection lingering, for sure.

Here we’re talking about two Canadian brothers, heading from the underground scene of their adopted East Berlin with Energize – a groovy electro-wave anthem, where the husky vocals of Benedikt and Tobias MacIsaac meet and float into one another.

In the video we see the two brothers highly unified, dancing a hip and energetic mix of modern ballet and boyish rage. Pretty much everything in the production of the single is made by the two of them – only the cinematography is in collaboration with artist and photographer Emilia Tapprest.

Benedikt and Tobias explain their music as “a blend of soulful vocals, dynamic instrumentation and elements of electronic. A Cain and Abel act”. It’s alternative pop – groovy and uplifting – full of sparkling beats, yet covered in darkness and definitely fresh. The project, less than a year old already toured the UK, Switzerland, Germany and Canada, including performances at Club NME and Rifflandia Music Festival.

Rooftop Runners’ first full album is now in post-production, while their EP with the straightforward name We Are Here is available here on The Upcoming.
