High Street Fashion Week (HSFW) is a brand new event that gives independent fashion labels and less expensive brands a chance to show off their unique collections.

Little sister to London Fashion Weekend, HSFW may be smaller, but is packed with arguably just as much talent. HSFW is a much-anticipated event set in Box Park, the world’s first pop-up mall in Shoreditch. The latest collections will be on show from up-and-coming high-street boutiques, independent brands and e-tailers. During the day, shoppers can browse the collection of retailers which include Myo Fashion, The Holiday Boutique, Lauren Cole, Roxie Sweetheart and Street Princess. Finalist Annaliese Dayes from America’s Next Top Model – British edition – will also be showing her brand of cute socks Frills By AD.

The evening brings catwalk shows of “high-street couture” in an exclusive VIP event hosted in the glamorous Aura Mayfair nightclub. Brands including The Vintage Set, Chic and Geek, Bagzacharacter and Elisha Francis will showcase their pieces on the runway. VIP ticket holders will also get backstage access where they will receive a make-over by the catwalk stylists who have worked on Lady Gaga’s recent tour.

Independent fashion boutique owner Leah Simmons is the brains behind HSFW. After spending time in the US organising Miami Fashion Week, Simmons decided to create an event in which smaller retailers could show their individual styles. In credit crunch times not everyone can afford designer pieces, but this way savvy shoppers can re-create high fashion looks for less. Simmons also hopes the event will be a platform for retailers to present their brand to industry buyers.
