Libertine, the new jewellery range by iconic British designer, Giles Deacon, has launched this week following a glamorous party held at The Ivy, Leicester Square. The Upcoming were lucky enough to have been invited to the incredibly fashionable launch party of the new range where the exquisitely designed jewellery was showcased.

On Monday 4th March, The Ivy opened its doors to an array of extremely well dressed guests. A dimly-lit room was complemented by the art deco decor and the constant flow of champagne as guests gathered around the decorated birdcages that held the Swarovski encrusted pieces. However, the attention on the jewellery itself came second to the attention that its creator deservedly received. As Giles Deacon floated around the room, it was hard to take your eyes off a man with such modesty and grace. “I’m Giles” was  heard on numerous occasions, as if guests were not to know that they were in the presence of the legendary designer.

“I’m so excited, it’s amazing. I’m actually on QVC!”, was Deacon’s response when asked about his new collection. There is no doubt, of course, that the designer is right. From thorn inspired hooped earrings to scorpion claw shaped bangles and rings, the Libertine collection is not to be missed. In collaboration with QVC, Giles Deacon has created a fun and affordable range of jewellery with the bold, quirky twist that only he could achieve.

Summed up, the Libertine collection is new, different and most importantly, gorgeous. There is something about a sheriff dangling from a pendant and a beetle entangled in thorns on a bracelet that just works. And for a mere £32.50, a Giles Deacon designed crystal scorpio is all we want hanging around our necks this A/W.

The Libertine collection will be available to buy from March 10th on QVC. Prices range from  £14 to £70).
