Chris by Christopher Bu new spring/summer 2013 collection
Chris by Christopher Bu has just launched his new spring/summer 2013 collection; this is a ready-to-wear collection designed by the creative director Christopher Bu. The designer first gained his fame by designing a crane gown and the porcelain gown that were worn by the actress Fan Bingbing for the Cannes film festival on the red carpet.
The new collection From London with Love consists of versatile pieces that are inspired by the radical chic of London, Britain’s capital. Simplicity is the key to his designs.
Christopher Bu has concentrated on a ready to wear collection with separates that can be worn separately or mixed and matched with other separates from the collection, making this an ideal collection to wear.
The designer has chosen to add a few colours in his collection; this includes white that is used as a primary colour running through. He has also chosen to use lemon bon bon, orange, navy, pillar-box red and racing green that are the secondary colours used in the collection. The combinations of these hues are just perfect. British fashion is a clear theme running in his designs.
As the designer was inspired by London he included British iconic designs on individual garments. You will spot casual tops with red double decker buses or a picture of a queen and shift dresses with iconic stamps. These separates have an obvious British design aspect, while the other garment represent fashion in London that includes sharp silhouettes, bold prints and perfect tailoring. Christopher Bu has been keen to use high quality silk and wool that has been his main fabrics.
This collection has a great balance. You can easily wear the pieces to the office as they are comfortable yet professional. Or you can choose to wear the collection to a party. The beauty of it is that it can be accessorised with minimal jewellery or you can opt to wear it without any jewellery pieces, as the collection speaks for itself.
