Cut Out Girls: the label that will have everyone talking

Cut Out Girls: the label that will have everyone talking

Every day you see leather, pleather, plastic and canvas bags – it’s very rare that you get to see a knitted bag that looks amazing. Well, when you see Cut Out Girls’ bags you will instantly fall in love with them.

Elizabeth Chilton and Carla Bromhead are the creative geniuses behind Cut Out Girls. The duo first met while studying Fine Art at Newcastle University. In 2011 they joined forces to establish the label. The pair were inspired by their move to London and a desire to keep creating and collaborating. Their first motivations came from using surplus canvas and paintings from university. This concept of reinvention, and manipulating unique left-over materials formed their first functional bag collection.

The label’s designs are centred on quality and a perfect handmade finish, being manipulated through traditional craft techniques and practices. Even though these bags are handmade they don’t look cheap or tacky. There is true quality in Cut Out Girl’s products. Their hand-knitted wool and calico satchel is gorgeous and is a piece you need in your wardrobe this summer. However, if you feel the knitted look isn’t for you, then you may like the army satchel in burgundy and yellow.

At Cut Out Girls you will find bags made from rope, bags knitted with wool and bags that have been made from army surplus. One thing is for definite; you will adore at least one of the bags. The question is where are Cut Out Girls heading with their products? It may be Vogue magazine or we may see it on a catwalk show. Whatever it may be, it will be bigger and better.
