Wristwear candy: Mutewatch launches three new colours to their timepiece range
Two years after the initial launch of Mutewatch, the minimalist Swedish watch brand has produced their digital wristwear in a new range of vibrant plumes. Nova Purple, Indigo Blue and Ivy Green have been merged alongside the previously seen darkened displays, aptly responding to a fast-growing consumer base with timepiece envy. Striking upon identical functionality to their original counterparts, the delectable new shades – available online now and in retail stores at the beginning of July and retailing at £199 – all boast the brand’s iconic simplicity with strokes of innovative technicality. Featuring the idyllic solid coloured band, a silent vibrating alarm and an intuitive hidden touchscreen that ignites with the slide of a finger or a flick of the wrist, the watch withholds a stance upon the timepiece market with the extension of its incomparable evolution. With a waterproof façade and a built-in motion sensor that detects any movement, whilst educating the consumer with its task alert and goal achievement capability, the adaptation for individual lifestyle is the integral stimulus rather than just a mere colour alteration.
Founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2008 by an eclectic group of young entrepreneurs, the ideation became apparent during a business idea competition at Stockholm School of Economics where CEO and co-founder Mai-Li Hammargren attended. With the first product images and the sourcing of information around the conceptual design simmering in 2010, anticipation swiftly cascaded, pushing forth the production for the deemed-to-be must-have combination wearable tech. The debut of Mutewatch in 2011 was exclusively launched in Paris before maximising intent by shipping worldwide, distributing the brand’s creativity and unique perspective to larger clientele demographics.
“I decided to found Mutewatch…because I saw a great interest in the product after I presented it at the competition,” stated Mai-Li Hammargren. “The main goal of Mutewatch is to create simple tools with a retro feel that help people manage the overflow of information we experience each day. Our aim has also been to create a pioneering, iconic design inspired by Swedish minimalism. We are excited to create new products that our fans have been asking for since we launched in 2011.”
Mutewatch have demonstrated a coherent fusion of technical precision with illustrious façades, migrating the theory of the watch into realms of opposing functionality brought together under a minimalist haven. Mutewatch have curated a message that the timepiece is no longer just a product to look at – it now clocks vital intelligence within your lifestyle.
