If you’re frequently torn between the inner eco warrior and beauty goddess, frowning upon animal testing or harmful nasties commonly found in many of our best loved products, switching to an eco-friendly brand does not mean compromising on performance. Loved by many, it’s easy to see why the swap from chemical-laden products to a natural alternative is plain sailing with Jason Cosmetics.

With the word “natural” over-used by many brands as a clever marketing ploy, Jason Cosmetics can boast that their range is 100% natural. No product or single ingredient is tested on animals, there are no animal by-products used and none of their products contain sodium lauryl sulphate (the famous ingredient well known for the detrimental drying effect it has on the skin). Their products are also free of mineral oil, lanolin and petrolatum.

The Jason brand was founded in 1959, and since then the company has gone from strength to strength. They source the finest natural and organic ingredients from all four corners of the globe which results in products that often out-perform their chemical rivals in blind tests. We’re an office of long-term devotees to the range, so sharing our best-kept natural beauty secrets is no hardship.  Here are our picks from the range:

Invigorating rosewater body wash (£9.49)

This refreshing rosewater and calendula wash certainly gives our weary souls the boost we need each Monday morning by uplifting our senses and taking us on an exotic journey with one use of this beautifully scented, deeply hydrating wash.  Calendula is well-known for its skin-healing properties, making this blend the ideal post-shave or achy muscle pick-me-up, leaving you with silky smooth yet deeply cleansed skin. Simply massage into wet skin, rinse and smile!

Cooling mineral and tea tree muscle reliever (£7.29)

The antidote to sore, overworked bodies, this wonderfully cooling and powerful therapeutic balm offers instant pain relief, without having to use medication. With anti-inflammatory tea tree oil, the balm is able to relieve muscle and joint pain by penetrating the skin and getting to the source of pain. The skin receives intense nourishment from avocado, evening primrose and hazelnut oil.

We found this balm was able to work wonders on a variety of ailments from tension headaches to neuralgia, pulled muscles to stomach cramps. To use, simply apply to the external point of pain, avoiding the delicate eye area. With only a small amount needed to receive the benefits and relieve the symptoms, this large pot is sure to last a long time and become a firm favourite for men and women alike.

Nourishing cocoa butter crème (£6.49)

Cocoa butter is well known for its tan-enhancing properties, so if your aim this summer is to achieve a beautifully golden (safe) tan, then pack this rich moisturising butter in your suitcase and use as an alternative to after sun. It’s fantastically hydrating and nourishing for even the driest of skins. What we particularly love about this cream is its suitability for use from head to toe, multi-tasking and high performance – now that’s our kind of product.

Healthy mouth tartar control mouthwash (£5.99)

With natural grapefruit and perilla seed to reduce tartar build up, tea tree oil for its anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties, aloe vera to soothe any irritation and clove oil to keep breath fresh, you’re guaranteed to have a set of beautiful pearly whites, without the use of harsh abrasives or chemicals. If you find normal mouthwashes sting upon use, then treat yourself to this super gentle, yet hard working mouthwash, which is a pleasure to use. We guarantee your dentist will thank you!

Vitamin E Oil 45,000 IU (£9.99)

A feature on our favourites from the Jason range would not be complete without our scar and stretch mark saviour in a bottle! This maximum strength treatment contains a powerful blend of seven oils, each used individually to treat a whole host of skincare concerns, from premature skin aging to acne scarring, and together they combine to create a powerful synergy. Simply apply a couple of drops to your face and body before bedtime, concentrating application to areas of concern such as scars, lines or wrinkles. This instantly and deeply hydrates the complexion whilst prolonged use improves the appearance of scars, speeds up the cell renewal rate, thus improving the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
