Sunglasses are an essential during the summer period, and despite us wearing them every year, most of us still don’t know what shape suits us best! Thankfully however, Guess have come up with the best suggestions to ensure you choose a style that is ideal for you. Having recently released their latest summer collection, we can’t see anything wrong with these shades! To discover your face shape and which shades suit you best, consult our list below.

Diamond

A diamond face shape tends to be widest at the cheekbones, with a smaller forehead and chin. Rimless frames that are heavier on top will add width to the forehead, while oval or square frames with high temples will balance out a narrow chin.

Heart

A heart-shaped face is defined by a larger forehead, high cheekbones and a neat, heart-shaped chin. Round and angular frames will help balance out the proportions of the face.

Inverted triangle

An inverted triangle shaped face has the characteristics of a broad forehead that becomes gradually narrower, down to the chin. Frames with a wider bottom will add width below the eye line to give balance; avoid large frames and bold colours.

Oval

The ideal face shape is generally considered to be the oval, due to its balanced proportions. Most frames will suit this shape face, providing they are in proportion to the face. Select frames that are wider than the broadest part of the face.

Round

The width and length of a round face are roughly equal in proportion. Select angular, narrow frames wider than the widest part of the face, to add length.

Square

A square-shaped face is characterised by a strong jaw line, broad forehead and wide cheekbones. Rounded or oval-shaped frames will soften the look of the face. The top of the frames should sit high enough on the face to downplay the jaw line.

Triangle

A triangle shape face is widest horizontally at the chin, and it gradually narrows to the forehead. Square or rimless frames are best suited for a triangular face shape, to add width to the forehead.
