Tamaris launches its SS14 collection at Mahiki, London

Already a well-known brand in its native country, Tamaris is set to – almost literally –follow in fellow German shoe designer Birkenstock’s footsteps, with its effortless ability to fuse comfort with style. And the SS14 collection is sure to make Tamaris an equally important name to know. Take these cut-out stilettos, which remix the sports-luxe trend in this season’s must-have shades – we’re sure fashion lovers everywhere will be sporting them for the party season and beyond.

Tamaris has recently gained international recognition through its sponsorship of Berlin fashion week AW14, and what better place to launch its summer line in the UK than the tropical surroundings of London’s exclusive Mahiki nightclub? Alongside a selection of bloggers, we were invited to view pieces from the new collection, with the challenge of styling our own pair of heels.

The striking gold hue just cried out to be paired with an all-black ensemble, so we opted for fashion’s favourite colour combination and kept the look low-key by playing with texture, layering up in this vintage wool cardigan. Its elegant embroidery pulled together the outfit’s gold details, without being too overdone. After all, these are the kind of shoes that’ll take you from day to night with ease, so your outfit should really do the same.

If you fancy braving a little colour, try the pink-suede version of these heels. It’s a palette that isn’t going anywhere, thanks to labels like Honor and Giambattista Valli, so embrace the shade and this season’s new longer length by wearing this pair with a matching midi skirt. We finished the look by draping this sleek bomber jacket by Marc Cain over our shoulders for a tailored touch of nonchalance.

By the end of the challenge, the guests were ready to enjoy the rest of the night with Mahiki’s infamous Treasure Chest and Sea Pearl cocktails, while eyeing up the rest of Tamaris’ collection – we were especially impressed by the boho-inspired fringed sandals. It may be time for Christmas, but summer is only six months away…
