Chic and fun designs from Maiocci
Maiocci’s creative director, Crina Okumus, lives by the motto of working hard to get something you really want, and believing that “nothing is out of reach”. And it has certainly worked in her favour. The ex-model has successfully created a bold, bright and feminine brand.
With her extensive fashion experience (modelling and working as a fashion buyer) Crina noticed the need for a clothing collection, which embraced a few essential components for women’s clothing. She wanted to mix comfort, colour and modern elements to create a fashion range – and so Maiocci was born.
Based in Zurich, Maiocci is infused with the pure essence of Swiss design. It features a signature clothing line, exclusive jewellery range and a young collection called M by Maiocci.
Skimming through the designs it is obvious they are all stamped with a signature Maiocci touch. There are a lot of geometric lines, simple structuring and use of various materials to create a unique piece. The use of colour blocking with bright shades to give off a very bold and confident statement is also incorporated.
The M by Maiocci line also features colour blocking but encompasses more playful and girly designs such as stripes and bon-ton bows to offer a flirty and laid back array of garments.
The brand also boasts a fantastic jewellery collection, which has even caught the attention of Vogue with Maiocci’s Metamorphosis Electric Blue Necklace being featured on the highly acclaimed fashion publication. Each necklace in the collection is anything but dull – the whole collection sparkles with a high intensity of colour and dramatic design.
It seems this is only the beginning for Crina Okumus and her brand Maiocci; we look forward to seeing more chic and feminine pieces.
