Polka Milk x Liberty x Hello Kitty S/S 2014 collection

Remember the time when Hello Kitty was pretty cool? Well, welcome it right back to 2014! Culinary-inspired clothing brand, Polka Milk, have collaborated with Liberty London to launch an amazing, vintage Hello Kitty S/S 2014 collection and it is simply incredible!

The concept behind the brand is to fuse together fashion with food, and what better than to link the idea of the famous cat face than with candy. Calling it “playful and colourful visual candy”, the brand has launched seven different “flavoured” pocket t-shirts with contrasting roll-up sleeves. However, these aren’t just any old t-shirts. The prints are made using a rare, out-of-print vintage Liberty fabric, made only in Japan. This therefore means, once they are gone, they are gone!

The t-shirts themselves are made using the finest 100% organic, climate neutral cotton, giving the brand a sustainable name. They want to pride themselves giving an ethical service to help the environment, as well as agricultural workers and all Polka Milk customers.

All of the t-shirts have quirky food names too. Our favourite? It has to be Elderberry and Mint Flavour Polka Milk tee. It is “made from fresh mint and pure elderberry juice, which has been given time to mildly ferment to help bring out a truly refined taste for the refined palette”. Described as suitable for the subtle and classy, we think this is the perfect choice for us.
