Revival of the Hasbeen

Revival of the Hasbeen

Ladies, the search for the perfect summer shoe is finally over; allow me to introduce you to Swedish Hasbeens. These wooden clog-style shoes are fast becoming a summer staple, and aside from the obvious visual appeal of tanned leather on bronzed skin, there is another reason why these shoes have us swooning.

The reality is that all of you taller ladies can seek refuge from the blisters that come with skyscraper heels; just get a quick pedicure and don a pair of cute little flat sandals whilst your supermodel height remains the same. But for all of the fellow petite fashionistas, I’m sure that you can all relate to the annual pangs of dread which begin when the summer trends hit stores and the high street becomes flooded with very pretty, albeit very flat sandals.

Should a girl really have to sacrifice a few inches of height in order to sink her Cinderella sized feet into a pair of summer sandals? The answer is no, not if Swedish Hasbeens have anything to do with it.

The fact of the matter is that heels often become somewhat impractical during the summer season, there’s nothing worse than trying to appear calm and collected when striding through a garden party whilst silently pleading with your stiletto not to slip into the soft ground. Soil sodden stiletto is a trend which isn’t too likely to catch on anytime soon, sadly. However, there is no such fear to be had with Swedish Hasbeens – the chunky wooden heel is both practical and sturdy meaning that you won’t have the same issue of discomfort and impracticality which can often be the case with high heels.

No matter if you’re blessed with the height of Naomi Cambell – or slightly lacking in that department – there is nothing more flattering on the legs than a sky-high wooden wedge combined with a tan leather strap, especially when teamed with golden summer skin.

Something else worth knowing about Swedish Hasbeens is that the materials used to craft these shoes are natural and kind to nature. Prices start from £89, which is reasonable when you consider the longevity of such a well-crafted shoe. Hasbeens really are an investment piece, capable of adding a retro spin to an everyday outfit.

Oh, and another thing: Swedish Hasbeens are currently offering 30% off the price of some of their best-selling styles including the ever popular Flora clog and the Singoalla clog. So, 30% off the price, with 100% quality and style still remaining. What could possibly be fairer than that?
