Karl Lagerfeld’s life in plastic: It’s going to be fantastic

Karl Lagerfeld’s life in plastic: It’s going to be fantastic

German fashion mogul Karl Lagerfeld is being turned into a Barbie!

Come this autumn, the man behind French powerhouse Chanel and Italian designer brand Fendi will be turned into a doll designed by Mattel (the brains behind the Barbie brand).

The controversial creative director has changed the world of fashion and caused a great deal of uproar whilst doing so; after using strippers in one of his Fendi collections he caused Anna Wintour to walk out of a catwalk show. He has been targeted by PETA due to his belief in real fur and has made several comments about many celebrities’ size and appearance including Adele, Heidi Klum and Pippa Middleton.

That being said, Lagerfeld has had a profound effect on the fashion industry and is possibly one of the most brilliantly successful and creative artists out there, so it is no surprise he is being honoured with such a fitting gift.

The doll will be dressed in classis Karl Lagerfeld attire: black tailored jacket, high-collared white shirt with French cuffs, black satin cravat and black jeans. His styled white hair, dark sunglasses and tan are also present, it is unmistakably Karl.

The Barbie will be classed as a collector’s edition and will come under the “Barbie Collector” range. Prices and a release date are yet to be announced, all we know is that a mini plastic Karl will be coming in autumn, so keep your eyes peeled.
