Cara Delevingne collection for DKNY

Cara Delevingne collection for DKNY

Yes, it’s finally here! The model that is on everyone’s lips, Cara Delevingne, has designed a new collection for US fashion heavyweight, DKNY.

Inspired by sportswear, the collection stays true to the trademark laidback street style aesthetic that 22-year-old Delevingne has become famous for. Cool crop tops and leggings, tomboy beanie hats and t-shirts emblazoned with Delevingne’s image and the slogan “if you can read this, you’re standing too close”, are seen throughout the highly anticipated collection for both men and women.

Delevingne has truly worked hard for the campaign, holding a month-long model search for her DKNY campaign, and selecting six people from Instagram including a Glaswegian photographer and a Toni & Guy trainee.

Expressing her excitement about the new collection, the multi- talented, “it” girl said: “I first started to work with DKNY almost two years ago. They always encouraged my design  input, my personal style and my ideas from the very beginning of our working relationship.  Our creative synergy only grew with time and before you knew it we were exchanging  ideas for a jumpsuit.”

Delevingne continues in saying: “It was an organic process and it made sense. DKNY is urban and  edgy but most of all, it’s individual! They truly embrace the weirdness in all of us, so you  can really be yourself.”

The collection will be available to buy on DKNY.com, Net-A-Porter and STYLEBOP.com from 15th October 2014.
