Novikov Asian Restaurant unveils limited-time Lunar New Year menu in Mayfair

Novikov Asian Restaurant in Mayfair is marking Lunar New Year with a limited-time menu, available from 17th to 22nd February. The event celebrates the arrival of the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac, associated with themes of movement, ambition and progress. The restaurant aims to honour traditional customs and flavours through a series of specially curated dishes and a signature cocktail designed for the festival period.

The temporary menu features a range of dishes inspired by the symbolism of the Lunar New Year. Notable offerings include Lobster Bao Buns served with yuzu–piquillo pepper sauce, crisp lettuce and nori. Another highlight is the Fragrant Steamed Market Fish, accompanied by gai lan, ginger, spring onion and soy sauce. According to the restaurant, this dish is intended to “symbolise abundance and good fortune”, reflecting the broader significance of fish in the celebrations.

In addition to the food, Novikov is introducing a celebratory cocktail called The Golden Rush, which combines lemon, lychee, elderflower, vodka and Champagne. This drink has been created exclusively for the festivities and is intended to be shared among diners.

The meal concludes with a dessert named The Prosperity Mandarin. The dish consists of a yoghurt mousse encasing a mandarin centre, finished with a white chocolate glaze. The restaurant states that this dessert is “designed to represent luck and renewal for the year ahead”.

Novikov specialises in refined Asian cuisine in a high-end part of town. The team describe their approach as combining “elegant presentation with symbolic flavours” to offer a “refined and celebratory dining experience”. Their latest special menu is available for both lunch and dinner service throughout the six-day period.
