Aragon House reopens in Parsons Green with revamped interiors and updated menus after major refurbishment

Aragon House, the pub and boutique hotel located on New King’s Road in Parsons Green, has reopened to the public following a significant refurbishment. The relaunch this month introduces redesigned interiors, an updated food and drink offering, and refreshed accommodation. The aim of the transformation is to provide a contemporary yet welcoming environment for both local residents and visitors.

The ground floor bar and first-floor dining area have both undergone substantial updates. The new design incorporates green and teal tones, brass detailing, wood panelling, statement lighting and leather banquettes. The garden area remains open throughout the year, now with a retractable roof and enclosed sides, and during the summer months the venue will add an oyster shed and magnum rosé service.

The kitchen at Aragon House now focuses on what it describes as “elevated, ingredient-led dishes” that prioritise seasonality. The menu, which will change regularly to reflect available produce, includes in its openers Mersea Rock Oysters with Spicy Margarita Granita, Grapefruit-cured Trout with Pickled Fennel and Short Rib Beef Crumpet with English Pecorino. Main courses come with options such as Smoked Haddock and King Prawn Pie, Sautéed Leek, Hot Honey and Taleggio Ravioli, and steaks supplied by London butcher Godfrey’s. For dessert there’s Sticky Toffee Pudding, a Lemon Tart and a selection of British cheeses. On Sundays, the venue centres its offering around traditional roasts, with a choice of beef, chicken or pork belly, served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, and gravy.

The drinks list has also been revised, with an expanded wine selection featuring both new and old-world bottles, including Château Batailley Pauillac and Pulenta Estate XIX Cabernet. In addition, there are large format bottles, such as Lady A, Château La Coste – Methuselah and magnums of Nyetimber Classic Cuvée and Veuve Clicquot Champagne. Also available is a list of house cocktails, among them the Ultimate Bloody Mary, which is topped with oyster, bacon and olive, and a range of beers including Hawkstone Black on tap.

For those seeking a different atmosphere, the basement Green Room offers a speakeasy-style bar with a curated cocktail menu. The venue’s 15 boutique bedrooms, located above the bar and restaurant, have also been updated, described as “thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind” with dog-friendly options for furry guests.

Aragon House is open daily from morning until late, with hours varying slightly across the week. Room rates start at £180 per night.
