Style file: Carey Mulligan
Her incredible acting skills have captured our attention but her style choices have captured our hearts. Carey Mulligan pulls off the “less is more” fashion rule immaculately and proves there really is beauty in simplicity. Let’s take a look at some of her best dressed moments.
Carey managed to turn heads at the Far From Madding Crowd world premiere earlier this year in an embellished Christian Dior strapless gown that shone just as brightly as she did that night. To finish this look she wore simple, grey pointed heels.
For the 2015 Drama Desk awards she opted for an understated sleeveless A-line black shift dress with a flattering neckline. She paired this interesting style choice with mustard gold Christian Louboutin heels.
The Hollywood starlet went for another minimalist choice at the Tony Awards earlier this month. Showing that you can cover up and still be sexy Carey wore a Balenciaga oxblood strapless gown with stitched detailing. She accessorised with a simple gold bracelet creating a classically elegant red carpet look.
Carey proved that dark colours are the perfect go-to for the red carpet again while attending the Through the Looking Glass Costume Institute Benefit Gala event last month. She opted for a Balenciaga dress with a jewelled silver collar that had a subtle high low design at the rounded train revealing her black pointed heels; she carried a statement gold and black clutch.
At the Opening Ceremony and The Great Gatsby premiere in May last year Carey wore a panelled fit and flare Christian Dior gown giving her a timeless Hollywood red carpet look. She looked even better standing with co-star Tobey Maguire by her side! The pale pink colour of the gown also complemented the cool undertones in her skin and having her hair slicked behind her ears gave a very sophisticated and pulled together look. Paige Mavuala
