Getting up in the morning can be tough, especially if that after work glass of wine turned into a bottle! We want to limit the time it takes you from getting out of bed to getting out of the door. With so much to pack in – breakfast, getting ready, organising the daily schedule and other morning duties, this can be difficult. You may find you’re having to wake up earlier and earlier to fit everything in.

With research showing the right amount of sleep results in higher productivity, shortening your morning schedule can mean you’re working at the best level possible. We’ve compiled a list of products and ways for you to have a more efficient morning.

Drink a lot of water

It’s easy to become dehydrated overnight and, by drinking water as soon as you wake up, you will feel a lot more energised and ready to face the day. As well as being a vital necessity, keeping hydrated is important for brain activity and will see you get through your morning routine at a much quicker rate.

Try microwaving your eggs

Quick and easy breakfasts don’t just have to mean a bowl of cereal or a slice of toast on the run. A mug of scrambled egg becomes a healthy, oil-free breakfast after 30 seconds in the microwave, so you have something hot and full of protein on your way out the door.

Invest in a coffee machine

Eliminate the time spent in the morning café queue by brewing a quick coffee at home instead. Keep everything neat and tidy with a sleek little pod machine if you’re really in a rush – no clean-up required!

Put away the gadgets

You may have a busy schedule you need to consult, or an urge to check social media when you wake up in the morning – but please resist. Spending time on your phone or laptop will eat away at your morning time and all of the things you need to do online can be done on arrival to the office.

Speed up your beauty routine

Showering the night before can give you a lot more time in the morning, and dry shampoo is a busy woman’s best friend. If you wear makeup, try simplifying your routine. Lipstick and mascara can be all that’s needed and can be applied quickly; you can also try combining multiple products into one application, like moisturiser and foundation. You can also prepare your outfit the night before so there are no morning dilemmas.

Work can be stressful and starting the day rushing around will not put you in the best mood for combating the tasks you need to do once you reach the workplace. Have an organised routine and you will feel happier, healthier and, ultimately, be a better worker.
