The house of Dior may still be reeling from the news of Raf Simons’ departure, but it appears that it’s onwards and upwards for the iconic French brand. They have recently unveiled a new brand ambassador – actress Emilia Clarke.

Known for her unique sense of style and show-stopping red carpet looks, the actress recently turned heads when she attended Dior’s spring/summer 2016 show wearing one of the brand’s iconic tuxedo dresses.

Now, Miss Clarke is the new face of the house’s Rose des Vents jewellery collection, joining an illustrious catalogue of Dior brand ambassadors which includes Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cottilard, Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp. Not only is this Clarke’s first campaign for a luxury brand, it is also the first Dior fine jewellery collection to be represented by a celebrity.

First launched back in June, the Rose de Vents collection is the work of designer Victoire de Castellane, and taps into some of Christian Dior’s favourite symbols – including stars and flowers.

Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, the campaign images show the actress looking glamorous, yet paired back. One shows her wearing a classic black turtleneck, her hair in natural waves and make-up natural aside from a red lip, dripping with a multi-layered necklace studded with lapis lazuli and turquoise jewels.

In another, Emilia pairs her multi-layered necklace with an unbuttoned white shirt, highlighting the piece’s diamond, mother-of-pearl, and pink opal details. It’s an effortlessly elegant campaign, exuding a sense of classic glamour that feels entirely Dior.emiliadior1

And it seems that this could be the start of a big year for Emilia – best-known for her role in Game of Thrones, she will soon appear in the big screen adaptation of Jojo Moyes’ best-selling novel, Me Before You, and wearing a vintage wardrobe in Voice from the Stone, a drama set in the 1950s.
