Christmas jumpers – either you love them or you hate them. In general, the rule is the uglier the better but there are some more stylish options out there if you prefer not to spend Christmas wearing a sweater with a light up Rudolph on your chest. We have collected the best (or, if you’re a Grinch, worst) Christmas jumpers of 2015.

1. Advent Calendar Christmas jumper, Primark

As an ugly Christmas jumper Valhalla of sorts, it was inevitable that Primark would steal first place in our top 10. Feast your eyes on this amazing advent calendar creation. It’s bright, it’s multi-coloured, and it hurts to look directly at it. And in case you were wondering: yes, the boxes open. This jumper wins Christmas.

2. Snowman graphic Christmas jumper, Forever 21

One Christmas jumper had to, of course, feature a jolly snowman. This cute basic print really pops out on a bright red backdrop.

3. Navy elfie Christmas jumper, Primark

This jumper is warm, bulky, contains a hashtag and a festive play on words. What more could you want from a Christmas jumper? If the answer is “an elf taking a selfie” then you are in luck.

4. White Sleigh Bells Bling Christmas Jumper, New Look

Add a little festive jingle to your Christmas with this sleigh bell jumper with actual bells. No walking in on awkward family conversations for you this year as your bells will be announcing your arrival long before you come through the door. Thank you, New Look.

5. Black penguin Fair Isle Christmas jumper, New Look

This jumper has all the requirements to be a Christmas jumper classic: casual fit, Fair Isle knitting, and penguins wearing scarves.

6. Sequined Ho Ho Ho graphic Christmas jumper, Forever 21

This jumper is definitely an eye catcher. The print is festive and out there but the symmetry of the letters and the black backdrop keep it from being over the top.

7. Navy knitted Christmas cardigan, Primark

This simple and sweet cardigan embodies all the Christmas essentials. If you’re after something that isn’t too shouty then this cardigan is for you.

 8. Dear Santa sweatshirt, Topshop

This sweatshirt is great if you want to join in on the jumper fun but are not a fan of gaudy tops. Plus it can easily be combined with a Christmassy “statement piece” (pass the antlers please).

 9. Ugly Christmas sweater kit, Firebox

Feeling creative? Why not try your hand at making your own Christmas Jumper. This sweater kit from Firebox comes with a sweater and everything you need to make it as Christmassy as possible.

10. Navy Bah Humbug, Dorothy Perkins

Perfect for pug-lovers and Christmas jumper nay-sayers, this navy sweater is not over the top and can easily be combined. Plus, who could resist a pug with sparkly antlers?
