Raf Simons joins Calvin Klein as chief creative officer

Raf Simons joins Calvin Klein as chief creative officer

Back in January rumours started surfacing that Raf Simons may be joining team at Calvin Klein. Over the months, however, Simons did not make his move to Calvin Klein but continued creating pieces for his ongoing brand.

Last month was the mark of something extraordinary in the fashion industry: Raf Simons has officially moved to Calvin Klein. The news was posted via social networking app Instagram with a simplistic black and white print captioned: “Today announced the appointment of Raf Simons as chief creative officer of the brand, effective immediately.”

Raf Simons’ role at Calvin Klein will be one of great detail and concentration. He will be dealing with Calvin Klein labels such as Calvin Klein Underwear, Calvin Klein Home and Calvin Klein Platinum, as well as being in control of communications and visual design.

The Belgium fashion designer’s first collection will be released in autumn 2017. In the words of Steve Shiffman CEO, “The arrival of Raf Simons as chief creative officer signifies a momentous new chapter for Calvin Klein.”
