At the premiere of Bitter Harvest The Upcoming caught up with director George Mendeluk and lead actors Max Irons, Samantha Barks and Tamer Hassan.

The cast discussed with us their experiences and the responsibility involved in telling such a harrowing story. From filming in freezing weather in Ukraine to meeting her costar for the first time, Barks shared with us her most memorable moments on set.

Director George Mendeluk talked us through the research process behind the making of the film and Max Irons told us why he thought it was important to bring light to this historical event through the lens of a love story.

Finally Hassan explained how he would struggle to define his character as the villain of Bitter Harvest.
