The exciting collaboration with Gudetama the lazy egg, Hello Kitty’s friend, has been inspired by Gudetama’s laid-back attitude to life, something Shoryu always endorses for their guests.

Shoryu x Gudetama set menu

Available exclusively from 1st–21st April at Shoryu New Oxford Street and Shoryu Shoreditch, diners will be able to take time out to enjoy the eggstraordinary decorated Easter menu: three courses plus drink with limited edition Shoryu X Gudetama chocolate bar handmade and wrapped in the UK by Creighton’s Chocolaterie (whilst stock lasts!) for only £24.00. Creighton’s Chocolaterie is a Mother/Daughter partnership with an all-girl team who have previously made a range of Gudetama themed chocolate.

The set menu will offer an extended range of firm favourites, including ramen topped with a Gudetema-themed authentic nitamago egg, as well a touch of decoration across all menu items.

Feast on Gudetama coloured golden yellow Shoryu Buns: choose from char siu BBQ Pork Belly, Chicken Karaage or Pumpkin Croquette, the perfect start to get the taste buds racing with an added Gudetama flag. Move through to mains and select from three perfect bowls of Ramen: Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu – their signature ramen with added fried shallot and Gudetama egg, Miso Wafu Chicken – unique tonyu soy milk, white miso, shiitake mushroom & konbu soy broth, chicken karaage with Gudetama egg or White Natural (ve) – their unique tonyu soy milk, with a flavour explosion of miso, konbu & shiitake broth, garnished with a Gudetama egg on the side.

Sweet temptations come in the form of indulgent Mochi Ice Cream: choose from Mini Yuzu, Matcha or Salted Caramel Chocolate flavours, all served in a Gudetama cup. Wash down the eggciting menu with a choice of three refreshing drinks: Mango Iced Oolong Tea, Calpico, a refreshing milk-based soft drink, or Mojito Loves Calpico, mixed with mint & lime – all served in a reusable Gudetama plastic cup. The perfect way to round things off.

Shoryu x Gudetama limited edition merchandise

For those that want to take Gudetama home with them, there will be a range of limited-edition merchandise for guests to purchase in the restaurant as well as in-store at Japan Centre Panton Street & Japan Centre Westfield Stratford City, as well as Ichiba in Westfield London and online at japancentre.com

Favourites include new limited-edition Gudetama ramen spoons, premium maekake Japanese aprons and a Gudetama Goodie Box featuring tea towels, keyrings, tote bags, coasters and even more of our favourite egg friend.

Social competition

A special competition will also run on Shoryu’s Instagram, where guests will be invited to take a selfie with Gudetama and post on social with the hashtag #shoryugudetama, with the winners bagging a huge Gudetama plush toy and Creighton’s Gudetama chocolate or limited-edition Goodie bags, filled with very special Gudetama treats.
