The beloved video game, Sonic, has made it to the big screens in a whole new adventure. This time, the iconic blue hedgehog lands on Earth from outer space, attempting to escape enemies that are trying to harness his sought-after super-power: speed. But Earth holds its own challenges too. Jim Carey plays an evil roboticist, Robotnik, who attempts to hunt down Sonic (Ben Schwartz) at the demands of the government.

We caught up with Jeff Fowler about his first feature-length debut. He talks to us about how proud he is about his fantastic cast and crew, the importance of story and the videogame’s fanbase, who helped with feedback.

Jim Carey also expounded a similar appreciation for his broad fanbase and the necessity of really knowing your character, which in this case “is the perfect combination of total genius and complete self-loathing”.

Ben Schwartz talks about his love of the video game, the challenge of being a voice actor and how the special effects team brought his character to life.
