Four ways to pamper yourself after a long week at work

When was the last time you spent a day only by yourself? Or maybe, when you did the things that only you want? With a 9-to-5 job, it is challenging to find time for yourself. You get used to a monotonous routine. But that doesn’t mean you should stop thinking about yourself completely. It is essential to pamper yourself with things you love to ensure that your mind can relax after a long week at work.

Here are a few things you can try:

1. Take a bubble bath

You might usually bathe quickly so that you don’t reach your office late. But once a week, you should indulge in a long, relaxing bath to keep your mind away from things. Start with a scrub and skin conditioners and a hair mask. Put some bath salts in your bathtub and make sure the water is warm enough. Light a few scented candles and sprinkle some essential oils around your bathroom. You can also put some exotic bath oils in the bathtub. Dim the lights and turn on some soft music. You will sleep like a baby.

2. Go shopping

For many, shopping provides a form of relaxation. If you feel the same, don’t hesitate to splurge some cash on yourself. Go out and buy the dress that you shortlisted for months. You can even buy a few more outfits if that makes you happy. End the day by dining at a fancy restaurant. It doesn’t matter whether you have a partner or not; there is no better feeling than loving yourself first.

3. Attend a Derby

If you really want to spoil yourself,  treat your besties to a day at the races. Wear floral-printed dresses and sunglasses to impress. Also, don’t forget to read up about the sport before you arrive. Though it’s important to look good, it’s also about having fun and getting competitive. There are many websites and apps out there that offer updated information.

4. Grab some ice cream

It may sound childish, but ice cream can lift your mood immediately. Go to your nearest parlour and get yourself a few tubs of your favourite flavours. Sometimes, all it takes is a couple of tablespoons to satisfy your cravings. Honestly, it works like a charm. The key lies in not overdoing it no matter how tempting it is.

It is easy to spend time with yourself. Don’t indulge in office work too much after you come home but instead, take some time out for yourself and try these activities. They could be just what you need to refresh your mind and body, enabling you to tackle the following week’s job responsibilities more efficiently.
