On Wednesday, alt-rockers Yonaka stormed the stage at the Forum in Kentish Town, continuing their UK-wide Seize the Power tour. Formed in Brighton in 2014 (of Theresa Jarvis on vocals, George Edwards on guitar, Alex Crosby on bass and keyboards and Robert Mason on drums), the band released their first album in 2019 and haven’t looked back. The tour follows the release in January of a single version of title track Seize the Power.

This week’s gig was a showcase of songs from the mixtape (released in July of last year and featuring a series of previous singles as well as collaborations with Jason Butler, of Fever 333, and Barns Courtney), with some additional material and fan favourites thrown into the mix.

The group are known for their high-energy performances and this one was no exception. The Upcoming’s Virginie Viche was there to shoot the experience.
