The Libertines add extra Manchester date amid tour sell-out and announce new single Oh Shit

In response to overwhelming demand, The Libertines have announced an additional Manchester date on their 2024 UK tour. This comes alongside the release of their new single Oh Shit and their forthcoming album All Quiet on T=the Eastern Esplanade, set to drop on 5th April.

The added Manchester show will take place on 9th November at the Albert Hall, marking the third and final night in the city due to the rapid sell-out of their UK/Ireland tour dates. This expansion of their tour underscores the band’s enduring appeal and contradicts the notion that live band performances are waning in popularity.

The Libertines, composed of Peter Doherty, Carl Barât, John Hassall and Gary Powell, have been a pivotal force in the British music scene since the early 2000s. Their journey includes three critically acclaimed albums: Up The Bracket (2002), The Libertines (2004) and Anthems For Doomed Youth (2015).

The new single Oh Shit, described as “quite possibly the most Libertines single ever” by the band, was released on 6th March. It serves as an anthem for the current economically challenging times and is the fourth single from their eagerly anticipated album. The band’s history of sold-out shows and rapid ticket sales for their UK/Ireland tour further cements their status as one of the most sought-after live acts.

The Libertines will also be engaging with their fans through in/out-store shows and a special Q&A at Rough Trade East during the release week of their new album. Additionally, they are set to headline the On the Beach Festival in Brighton on 28th July, promising a summer highlight for fans.

As the band prepares for their extensive tour and album release, their impact on the music industry and their ability to draw crowds is undeniable. With the new album receiving high praise and their tour dates filling up fast, The Libertines continue to solidify their legacy in the rock music world.
